Many people who regularly read this blog have spent countless hours in the back country. In Canada (and many other countries) simple boxes have been constructed to help one heed the call of in nature. These boxes have many names including Privy, Thunderbox, and KYBO (Keep your bowls open). They also have been called other, less polite names.
Some people I knew who owned some land in central Ontario had asked me if I would build them one of these boxes to use on the property. In order to save costs, I went to a local hardware store and asked for a few skids or pallets and broke them down into usable wood planks. With the exception of the nails, this box cost me nothing to build.
Please enjoy this 10 minute video with how I built the privy box.
